Things to see and do
Here’s one museum that is a favourite among fibre artists, about a 40-minute drive from Ottawa. The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum interprets the history of the woollen industry in the area, and the effect it had on the social, cultural and industrial development of the region. The museum also offers stunning exhibits and education on fibre arts.
Built in 1867 in the annex of the former Rosamond Woolen Company, this national historic site features a blend of old and new. Although the site no longer produces wool you’ll probably find some for sale in the gift shop. It might be worth a visit!
This map shows you the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre and adjacent hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott Ottawa East. This is where all the Annual’s action will take place. You can find directions, and see how handy the site is to downtown Ottawa and other spots of interest.
